CCTV news: According to the latest data from the China National Light Industry Federation, in 2024, light industry enterprises above designated size will achieve an operating revenue of 23 trillion yuan, up 2.0% year on year. The profit was 1.5 trillion yuan, up 8.3% year on year.

Production grew steadily. In 2024, the added value of light industry above designated size will increase by 5.1% year on year, and the output of 55 of the 91 major light industrial products counted by the National Bureau of Statistics will increase. Among them, thanks to the trade in policy of consumer goods, the production of household washing machines, refrigerators and other products grew rapidly.

Profitability continues to improve. In 2024, the operating income profit margin of light industry will be 6.54%, 0.38 percentage points higher than that of last year, and the profitability will continue to improve. Among them, the profits of household appliances, batteries, sewing machinery and other industries maintained double-digit growth.

The market expanded steadily. With a series of policies to expand domestic demand and promote consumption, the vitality of the light industry market has gradually increased. In 2024, the retail sales of 11 categories of goods in light industry will reach nearly 8 trillion yuan, up 5.0% year on year. Among them, household appliances, audio and video equipment, etc. have maintained a rapid growth trend for four consecutive months.

Exports increased steadily. In the past year, the export scale of light industrial commodities has continued to expand and the structure has been continuously optimized. In 2024, the export volume of the whole light industry will increase by 3.6% year on year, maintaining a recovery trend for three consecutive months. Among the 21 major categories of light industry, 13 industries saw year-on-year growth in export volume, and foreign trade exports remained resilient.

In the past year, large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade in policies have promoted the overall upgrading of the textile industry from production to sales.

In this local hosiery production enterprise, the reporter saw that more than 200 intelligent hosiery machines are fully powered, weaving, shaping, packaging, and the assembly line runs at a high speed. The product line includes sports socks, business cotton socks, silk socks and other categories.

Local innovation in new equipment, new materials and new processes has provided more options for the diversification of sock functions and wearing scenes. At present, the products have been exported to 121 countries and regions in the world. In 2024 alone, the annual output value of the sock industry will exceed 70 billion yuan.

The localization rate of textile machinery has exceeded 75%, and the localization rate of key basic components of high-end textile equipment has exceeded 50%."
