Liu Cheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province (hereinafter referred to as "the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province"), said at a press conference held here on the 18th that the 2023 (the third) Hainan Splendid World Culture Week, hosted by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Culture and Haikou Municipal People's Government, will be held in Haikou from April 27 to May 1.

Liu Cheng introduced that the theme of this cultural week is "Inheriting and Innovating to Create a Beautiful World", which mainly includes three activities: the opening ceremony, the theme forum and the intangible cultural heritage traditional weaving, embroidery, printing and dyeing skills project boutique exhibition.

The opening ceremony will stage the 2023 "Splendid World" national costume show, which will show the world's intangible cultural heritage, rich weaving skills and fashionable costumes with national characteristics. The clothing show is divided into two parts. The "Splendid World" part closely follows the theme of the "Belt and Road" and focuses on displaying the distinctive clothing and splendid culture of the ten ASEAN countries with the Maritime Silk Road as the clue; The "Splendid China" section mainly displays the fashionable clothes made by Miao embroidery, Miao dyeing, Tibetan state codes and card cushion techniques, presenting the profound and splendid scenery of Chinese textile technology.

Chen Hongni, Deputy Director of the Public Culture Division (Intangible Cultural Heritage Division) of the Department of Tourism and Culture of Hainan Province, said that the boutique exhibition of intangible cultural heritage traditional weaving, embroidery, printing and dyeing skills projects will focus on the display of Hainan Li traditional weaving, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills, Miao traditional embroidery, batik and other projects, as well as the distinctive clothing and beautiful culture of the ten ASEAN countries. The boutique exhibition will also create three living cultural experience spaces of "Silk Charm in the South of the Yangtze River", "Colorful Clouds in the South", and "Qilu Green Away". With the intangible cultural heritage projects with regional cultural characteristics, it will interpret the transformation and application of traditional weaving, dyeing and embroidery techniques in modern life in a new exhibition form.

The traditional textile, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills of the Li nationality in Hainan have a history of more than 3000 years, which is one of the oldest cotton textile skills in China and even in the world. Liu Cheng said that through the medium of "Splendid Embroidery", Hainan Lijin Miao Embroidery Culture will be inherited, carried forward and spread, so that the intangible cultural heritage such as the traditional textile, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills of the Li people can be inherited, carried forward and spread, and enhance the confidence of Hainan's local culture; At the same time, we will create an internationally influential exhibition platform for the world's splendid products, a stage for China's splendid culture, and a window for Hainan Lijin and Miao embroidery culture to communicate with the world, innovate in the protection, inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage, and explain the charm of Hainan's culture.
