"Power assisted clothing" is made of metal and plastic. The whole garment has 8 motors and sensors. Users can control the whole device by voice.

It is reported that in order to develop "power assisted clothing", University of Tokyo professor ShigekiToyama and his team spent 15 years.

At the same time, they also plan to open a manufacturing company to produce this robot garment in person.

In addition, for different users, the scientific research team has developed two sets of clothing, one of which weighs 66 pounds and is suitable for weightlifting. Farmers can also use vegetables when they are in the field, while the other is slightly lighter, only 50 pounds, which can be used when picking farm work.

GoheiYamamoto, a project researcher, said: "when you do farm work, you can control the arms and legs of machine clothing only by giving short speech commands, so you can reduce your strength."

According to research and development personnel, robot clothing can make users save 62% on average.

Nowadays, due to the low birth rate and the increase of life span, the number of elderly people in Japan is increasing. Therefore, the "power assisted clothing" will be very popular in Japan.

At present, nurses in some Japanese hospitals and elderly activity centers have started using this kind of robot clothing, which has provided many convenience for them to help patients.

It is reported that the whole set of "power assisted clothing" price is currently 1 million yen (about 7000 pounds), but manufacturing companies said that after large-scale production, prices will decline sharply.

Today, however, the "power assist service" is only available in Japan, and the company is not planning to expand its sales abroad.
